Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park
You will have breakfast and then our tour guide will drive you to Kibale forest national park. It’s about 300km 5-6 hours with a tarmac road and also a distance of 36km on murram to Kanyanchu Tourist centre. Relax the rest of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi wetland
After breakfast the tour guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing. During trekking you may also see birds include olive long-tailed cuckoo, Western Green tinker bird, the African Grey Parrot, Red-winged Francolin, Red-chested Flufftail, White-naped Pigeon, Green-brested Pitta, African Pitta, Joyful Greenbul, Grey-winged Robin, Abyssinian Ground Thrush, Grey-throated Flycatcher, White-bellied Crested Flycather, Masked and Black-capped Apalises, Uganda Woodland Warbler and Chestnut-winged Starling and other animals like red-tailed monkey, diademed monkey, blue monkey, white cheeked mangabey, olive baboon, chimpanzees, black, white and red colobus, bushbuck, Harvey’s red duiker, blue duiker, genet, bush pig, and African civet. Rare ones are buffalo, waterbuck, hippo, warthog, and giant forest hog, Forest Elephant may also be spotted. In the afternoon you will visit Bigodi wet land which is also good for bird watching. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast you will drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. Arrive in time for lunch, in the afternoon visit the Katwe salt mines, and the local communities around. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Hippos in Queen ElizabethDay 4: Game Drive and Boat Ride at Kazinga Channel
You will have an early game drive where you will see lions, leopards, spotted hyena, side stripped jackal, bush back, water buck, oribi, topi, sitatunga, buffalo, elephant, hippo, and mangoose. You will return to the lodge for lunch and then go for a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. Its quiet enriching because you may see birds like the African Fish Eagle, Black Crake, African Jacana, Water Thick-knee, Spur-winged and African Wattled Plovers, Malachite and Pied kingfishers, Swamp flycatchers and Yellow backed Weavers, Great-white and Pink-backed Pelicans, Great and Long-tailed Cormorants, Common Squaco Heron, African open-billed Strok, White-faced Whistling and Knob-billed Ducks, you may also see crocodiles and hippos. Later return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi National Park
After breakfast drive through Ishasha sector and proceed to Bwindi national park. You will have lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Gorilla Tracking
After breakfast the driver guide will pick you from the lodge with packed lunch and drive you to UWA park headquarters for briefing. After briefing you will go for trekking which takes about 1 to 8 hours. You will have one hour only with the gorillas. During the trekking you may spot birds like the Short-tailed Warbler, Rusty-faced woodland Warbler, Bar-tailed Trogon, Gruer’s Rush Warbler, Wilcock’s Honey-guide, Yellow-eyed black Fly-catcher, Kivu Ground Thrush, Dusky Crimson Wing, White-tailed Blue Monarch, African Green Broadbill, Shelley’s Crimson wing , Handsome Francolin, Black-billed Turaco, African Broadbill; Black and Cinnamon-chested Bee-eaters, Western Green Tinker bird, Purple-breasted, Blue-headed and Regal Sunbirds among others animals like the black fronted duikers, South African porcupines, golden monkey, giant forest hog, bushbuck, buffalo, bush pigs, buffaloes, elephants, jackals, Black and white colobus monkey, chimpanzee, civet, clawless otter, genet and many species of bats and rodents can be seen too since the forest is a home to various birds and animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast the tour driver will pick you from the lodge after checking out and drive you will back to Kampala. You may stop at the Igongo cultural centre for lunch and visiting the museum, make another stopover at the equator in Kayabwe for photography. Proceed to Kampala.Book Now
